Into the Wild is our favorite travel movie that takes us across the US to Alaska. The movie is based on a true story. A young boy Christopher McCandless belongs to a wealthy family and graduates from Emory University as a top student and athlete.
He has his whole life and career set in front of him but seeing his family he no more wants to deal with his family or society. Instead of pursuing his career, he gives all his money to charity and sets on a journey through Alaskan Wilds.
Christopher burns the last money he has and completely lives in the Wild. The movie is inspirational, heartbreaking, and shows us places in the US that we never knew existed. While all other movies are worth watching and equally good, Into the Wild comes first on our list is because it starts by showing you the States.
Under The Tuscan Sun
Under the Tuscan Sun takes you on a trip to Italy and the local Tuscany city. The story revolves around the protagonist Frances Mayes who is a 35-year-old writer in San Francisco. She gets a divorce that leaves with very bad writer’s block and depression, so motivated by her friend Frances decides to take a tour to Italy, and while she is on the tour.
While he is there, she visits Tuscany and buys a villa in Tuscany in order to change her mood and surroundings. She starts her new life with the locals and starts taking interest in a handsome guy Marcello. The movie is beautiful and shows us the beautiful city and its life.

The story of the movie revolves around Walter Mitty who is an employee at life magazine. Besides, he fancies a fellow employee named Cheryl and would love to date her but he is way too self-conscious. When Walter’s own job is threatened he sets out on a journey filled with action and romance. The movie is cinematically perfect, with Walter’s daydreaming scenarios as well as his real-life journey.
Out of Africa
Out of Africa revolves around the aristocratic protagonist Karen Blixen. The dairy farmer Karen travels to Africa to join her husband Bror who spends their money on a coffee plantation. She soon finds out that her husband is cheating on her and starts getting interested in a local big-game hunter Denys but realizes that he prefers a rather simple lifestyle.
The two continue to date until a series of misadventures force Karen to decide which to choose, her love or personal growth. Beginning in Denmark, and moving to the colony of British East Africa, (Kenya today), the movie is perfect in terms of setting and storyline.
Amelie
Amelie is a movie that revolves around Amelie the protagonist. Amelie is a waitress and is almost always caught in her imaginary world. Despite being caught up she loves to help those around her find happiness. Amelie’s quest to spread happiness leads her on a journey where she finds true love. The movie shows the local modern-day Paris and gives us a tour across Paris. It shows us how it would be to live in Paris. Along with a beautiful setting, the storyline is also perfect.
Lost in Translation
Lost in Translation is a movie set in Tokyo. The story revolves around the aging movie star Bob Harris and a conflicted newlywed Charlotte. Bob is in Tokyo to film a Japanese Whiskey commercial, and Charlotte is there with her celebrity photographer husband. Left behind by her popular husband, Charlotte finds a friend in Bob, and the strangers in the foreign land find comfort and escape in each other’s company in a quiet hotel bar.

The Way Back (2010)
The Way Back is a travel adventure movie that revolves around an army officer and his fellow inmates. Turned in by his wife as a possible spy, Janusz is imprisoned in a remote Siberian camp, and due to the brutal conditions, he is determined to escape. A snowstorm comes as a perfect opportunity and Janusz along with a few inmates make a break for it.
They manage to escape, but escape however was the easy part, because when they do come out, they have ahead of them a 4000-mile trek on foot through the frozen Himalayas. They have to cross the Himalayas in order to be truly free. The movie discusses the adventures and misadventures they come across, and most importantly, the views and setting are beautiful.
The Bucket List
Edward Cole is a billionaire a terminally ill billionaire who meets Carter Chambers a mechanic in the same hospital room. The two strangers have only six months to live, so they come to terms with what they have done in life and what they want to do next. They sit and make a list of places they want to visit and things they want to do. Against their doctor’s advice, the two leave the hospital and set out on adventures of a lifetime.
The movie is beautiful as it shows you the meaning of life and the beautiful sceneries and adventures from skydiving to flying over the North Pole.
